PLATYPUS

Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb. We will present about platypus. Before we present, we will introduce our self, i am oktavenyta eriana and i am dyah ayu pangestuti. We know in the world, there are many kinds of animals. And in our  persentation, we choose one of them, that is platypus. Ever you hear platypus? Platypus or (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) is a unique animal in the world. Its unusual appearance is so interesting. Platypus is the one of five species of monotremes. That is the only mammals that lay eggs. Platypus also including into venomous mammals like snake. Platypus is animal that can found in australia country. It lives in freshwater creeks, rivers and lakes.   The temperature of their body about 32 degree celcius. This temperature is lower than other mammals or about 38 degree celcius. The body of platypus is closed by brown fur that use to keep platypus warm. This animal has webbed feet.  And they also have a beak like duck too. these features that appear closer to those of a duck than to those of any known mammal. its beak used as censor organ, because it doesn’t has external ears. And it has venomous nails. But the only male platypus that has venomous nails. The Platypus uses its tail for storage of fat. The lenght of their tail is 10-15 for male, and 8-13 for female.  The weight of platypus is 1 to 2 kg. The lenght of their body about 30-40 cm. Male platypus is bigger than female platypus until 3 times. This venomous mammal has small eyes.  The diet of platypus is small insects and shrimp. Platypus also like to eat worms. Platypus usually find their food with diving in the water during 1.5 minutes. . It can travels up to 2 kilometers to looking for food.  Platypus has breeding season, in June-October. The shape of Platypus’ eggs are same as reptiles’ eggs. platypus is an excellent swimmer  and spends much of its time in the water to looking for food. But It does not like to live in deep water. It likes to be alone. Platypus belong to extinct animal. The other animals that belong to extinct animals are ; Sumateran tiger, eagle, cendrawasih, and others. The government protect them in the reservation because they are extinct animals.
